El-Aurian Name Generator (Star Trek)

This generator will create 15 random names appropriate for the Star Trek universe's El-Aurian race. El-Aurians are an alien species that looks just like humans, at least outwardly. Besides their inner bodies, their greatest difference being that El-Aurians at least have remarkably long lifespans of well over 700 years. Even the El-Aurians consider themselves excellent listeners, it is a trait they take great pride in. Many of them use this ability for good, for instance by being advisors, while others use it to exploit vulnerabilities in other animals. Only 5 El-Aurians have been identified. The three El-Aurians are Martus, Terkim and Tolian, and the two El-Aurians are Guinan and Leandra. Whereas the names of males follow a pattern, with just 3 names as far as possible, the names of females are certainly different. Nevertheless, we used these as a blueprint, but we took artistic freedoms to build on them a bit. El-Aurians are also one of the few species whose surnames are listed, even though the El-Aurians are known only to 2. Luckily Mazur and Soran are two related names. All surnames in this generator follow this pattern but there may be a whole variety of surname types practically speaking. An alternative to these surnames is to simply select one of the first names in this list and just use it as a surname.

To generate another 15 random names you just have to press the button. With every click 15 new names are generated.

El-Aurian, the title of the El-Aurian star system, is known to have a rather large amount of debris in space around it. This debris has caused many problems for various starships, including destroying a Starbase in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Pegasus". In the same episode, we also see Data taking care of the debris by creating a ship to clean up the debris that would otherwise threaten other ships or people in space. This is the first time Data made use of such a device and is very cool to watch.

The El-Aurian debris from "The Pegasus" is also used as a plot point in "The Defector". This happens when the Enterprise is on a mission to investigate the mysterious actions of the Federation President. Once they find the debris, the president realizes something isn't right and orders an investigation to find out what it was. When the Enterprise finally tracks down the debris, they find it contains a shuttlecraft and a number of alien races, including El-Aurians.

These are just a few of the uses for El-Aurian debris in Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes. The debris from "The Pegasus" was also seen in the Deep Space 9 episode "Sacrifice of Angels" when Worf and O'Brien were talking about how they had found a piece of debris that looked like a shuttlecraft in deep space. This was actually from an El-Aurian shuttle and its debris.
