This generator will give you 15 random names for Necron, an integral part of the Warhammer 40k universe. They're one of the oldest species in the universe, but they did not start out as vicious robotic killing machines. The Necrons were once known as the Necrontyr, a highly advanced race that was jealous for not having the secret of immortality, and the Old and the C'tan, two other species. The Necrontyr waged a war on the Old Ones, a way to unite the Necrontyr under one common enemy and to learn the secret to immortality. The C'tan subsequently offered immortality in a deceit. The C'tan was in it for personal gain while posing as allies. The C'tan gave immortality to Necrontyr, but it cost their bodies and most of their souls. Everything left was used to power these robotic humanoids known as the Necrons. Necrons. They have the heavy, ancient Egyptian feel that is also reflected in their culture. Because the Necrons are all gender-less robots, we did not divide the names between males and females. Most Necrons never remember their former lives, because their transfer wasn't usually done with great care. The higher Necrontyr are exceptions, so you might want to pick a more masculine or feminine sounding name.

While many names in Warhammer have been derived from a source of lore or the name that would apply to the character in the Warhammer universe, the Necrons are a different story. There is only ever one specifically female Necro named by name and this is Phaerik Xun'Bakur, Queen of Necron and head of the Maynarkhan Dynasty. The question of sex is also more common in the higher ranks of Necromancy, especially in the Council of Necron.

Female Necrons have a few options when it comes to names. The most common female name for a Necro would be Phaerik Xun'Tilith. This is the name of the Necromancer that served as the adviser to Khasath, ruler of Khorne's horde of daemons, as well as the mistress of his army of warrior necromancers. This woman was known as the Mistress of Death. In the novel "Warhammer 40,000: Emperor of Blades", she was the first female Necromancer to be given the task of guiding Khasath as he ruled over Khorne's horde of warriors.

If you are a male Necron, your choices are more limited. In Warhammer lore, Necroses are usually male. In the game, they can be female, but they are also referred to as male Necron. For example, a character called Drakan-Konnaggar the Younger is referred to as Drakan-Konnaggar but in the Warhammer 40,000: Age of Reckoning supplement this is spelled Drakan-Konnaggar-Draka. This is likely due to the fact that Draka is the second-in-line to Draenor's throne.
